More electricity without building new power plants.

SeaPattern unlocks more electricity from Europe's existing hydropower. Without new dams and without interventions in the watercourse.

Why now

Europe's hydropower is the largest untapped renewable resource

Hydropower is the backbone of Europe's electricity system. It provides the flexibility that makes more solar and wind possible. But new hydropower has stalled, and output has stood still for forty years. Activating the fleet that already exists takes months, not decades.

9–14 years

average permitting time for new hydropower in the EU.

20+ years

payback time for newly built hydropower. The best sites are already taken.

35%

average capacity utilization in Europe's existing fleet.

10–12 equipped plants deliver the output of an entirely new power plant, without a single one being built.

The market

A market that's already built

211 GW of installed hydropower spread across 22,000 plants. The majority are run-of-river plants in addressable sizes. Every outflow canal is a possible installation.

First markets after Sweden: Germany, Austria and Italy. Presence in Linköping (HQ) and Munich (SeaPattern GmbH).
